If you have spent months  drafting out your latest marketing campaign and carefully choosing the perfect and most incisive language to draw your customer in to the merits of your company, there is nothing more deflating than your e-mail being unceremoniously overlooked by the intended viewer.

Our latest additions are:

  • Developer Defined Variables : We have been asked by many App and game developers to increase the number of developer defined app variables. So we have. This mean you can have a mix of triggers from both the level/sub-level and variables accessed by the player. These variable may be items collected within the game or clicks used within an app. Basically anything that the user does, you can track and may a push notification for. The management of the app variables has now been given its own section of the developer user interface.
  • Upversion Push Notifications : The plugin now reports on the game version which installed on the phone. In IOS 7, the phone automatically up versions the applications which reduces the players visibility of what is new in the app. So we can now send a push notification describing the new features for that version.
  • Click Through Statistics : The push notification click through support has been added to measure the click through rate of your push notifications. This will be reported to you in the analytics menu within the developer panel.
  • Certificates Management : The method of uploading and changing the demonstration and production certificates has been streamlined. This is now under the games menu. This allows you to add, modify and delete certificates for both Apple and Android.

Notify is based around the concept of ‘recipes’, a system that controls the frequency with which tailor-made notifications are sent to users, usually in the guise of cheat codes. This ‘context aware’ system places the needs of each single gamer above everything else and optimises their in-game engagement, providing an effective key to unlocking the increasingly fractured relationship that companies now have with their consumers, and re-awakening an invaluable trust between the two parties.

dojit-notify : what problem does it solve?

The average cell phone has 41 apps on it according to the recent Nielsen report.

The average person with a iphone or android device plays games between 7 am and 10 am,  so the major group of players are probable commuting to work or school.

So the average person at around 7am has the choice of 40 competing games or apps?

Totally Milkshake update

LAUNCH: Giant Screen Games Meet Up and BBC Interview!

In the beginning…

An event that offered gaming, pizza, beer and socialising – there was no way that LAUNCH: Giant Screen Games Meet Up, at Birmingham’s Millenium Point, could be refused. This meet up presented a chance for businesses and individuals across the country to unite and be involved in a giant screen play of Wallfour’s Renga – a multiplayer game controlled by laser pens within the audience.

After a little chat amongst ourselves, slurping of beer and munching on pizza, we were eventually ushered towards our galactic fate in the gigantic cinema…

The Renga adventure…

Whilst walking up the never-ending stairs, to the biggest Giant Screen in the Midlands, everyone attending was handed a laser pen in pairs. We then raced (in a very adult and mature fashion) to our seats.

Never has a game room been so loud. As people sat down in the giant screen at millennium point the entire room was riddled with whispers of excitement. The lights went down and silence filled the auditorium. Everyone was waiting in suspense. The audience were treated to new game trailers, which included Forza Horizon, before the big showdown began.

The audience were introduced to the game with an informative run through of how to play from a    Stephen Hawkings-esque voice. From the get go it was crucial for everyone to work together. People had to decide whether they were going to help move the ship, attack the enemy or release cargo from a protective bubble. As the game progressed, people started yelling at each other to provide advice and support, the experience was very exhilarating!

Finally, after collecting supplies and building up our ship, we met the big bad boss…and survived! High five for team work.

Overall, this Renga play through was a triumphant and enjoyable teamwork experience, that gives a great sense of accomplishment, when strutting out the room after completing a giant boss made out of red dots and lines.

BBC Interview…

During the event an opportunity arose for the CEO of Dojit, David Bozward, to be interviewed by the BBC.

He was asked about the tax breaks that are hoping to be introduced to the game industry in March 2013. However, details about what these ‘breaks’ might entail for companies has not been completely revealed.
